Harvest Crossing Receives DRB Approval

It is my great joy to relay to you that on Monday evening, the Underhill Development Review Board unanimously voted to approve our final application for the Harvest Crossing affordable homes initiative! This is most excellent news as we head into the holiday season. We are one giant step closer to shovels in the ground for eight affordable homes in Underhill.

Of course, there are still a few more ducks to line up. We are still awaiting approval on a few state permits, and once the DRB issues their written decision (they have 45 days to do so), a 30-day appeal period will open. We seek continued prayers and wisdom that these last few pieces will come together smoothly so that visible work can begin in the spring.

There are so many people and groups to thank as we cross these final pre-construction hurtles. Habitat for Humanity has been patiently at the table for five+ years, walking step-by-step, providing much needed experience, insight, and inspiration. The Town of Underhill has been a support, administering grants and being readily available for consultation as the project developed. Generous donors (like you!) raised tens of thousands of dollars even early on, demonstrating the will and the way toward affordable home ownership for Underhill. And countless individuals have shared their passions and expertise—for a season, or in an ongoing capacity—to move things forward.

We've come a long way, and we know there is more road (to build!) before us. But what a gift to be able to celebrate how far God has led us in these last years. May our joy be made complete!
