On Love

I’m traveling this week, but a quick note of follow up on the book I mentioned in last week’s sermon. I’m putting together a group book order for those who’d like a copy of On Love: 20 Lessons for the World We Seek by Paul and Janet Chilcote. I hope to have them available for pickup no later than Annual Meeting (Jan. 25). Let me know if you’d like a copy. Depending on interest, we may schedule a time to share reflections and actions as we strive to live for love in our time.

For related reflections on this topic, see Kate Bowler’s blog post: “Welcome to January. In America.” See especially her comments on secondary suffering and the meaning of citizenship (second half of the article).

I look forward to a special service of worship this Sunday as we reflect on the history and gifts of African American spirituals.
