How does a small community Church pull off an event like Harvest Market every year?
What happened that led the United Church of Underhill to launch a program to build affordable homes in Underhill Flats?
How did it happen that the United Church of Underhill came to be affiliated with both the Methodist and United Church of Christ denominations?
What does it mean that the United Church of Underhill is an “Open and Affirming and Reconciling” church?
What does Sunday worship look like at the United Church of Underhill?
If you have been curious about these or other questions, we invite you to join us for a “Welcome Open House Worship” on Sunday October 18, 2026. We will begin at 9:30 a.m. with tours of our Church facility. Worship will begin at 10:00 a.m. and usually goes for about an hour. Each element of worship will be explained so that visitors (and even some of our regular congregation) can gain an understanding of how we celebrate, share and learn each Sunday. After worship there will be our regular fellowship time where we have coffee, snacks and conversation with friends and neighbors. We will have more information available about how our Church is organized and accomplishes the many programs we provide.
Our goal for this October 18 th service is to open our doors and invite people in for an awareness of what the United Church of Underhill is and what we do here. Everyone is welcome! All ages, all genders and sexual orientations, all ethnicities, all socio-economic groups, all family structures, all beliefs, everyone. We will begin worship together upstairs in the sanctuary and after a children’s message in the sanctuary, there will be a children’s program downstairs. Parents are welcome to be with their kids downstairs or the kids can stay in the sanctuary.
This Welcome Open House Worship is not a recruiting effort. It is not a request for any financial contribution (although we will have the regular offering for our congregation). The service is not intended to change anyone’s standing beliefs about religion or God. Some of the most faithful participants in our congregation are not affiliated with either of our denominations. We welcome everyone, wherever you are on your own spiritual journey. Please come and be with us on October 18th.
