Leave updates: Pastoral Care
I again wanted to share a few updates on plans for my upcoming renewal leave (August 15-September 14). Last week I shared the worship plan, which will include services led by Pastor Gary O’Gorman and Rev. Marjorie MacNeill. This week, I want to share a bit about pastoral emergency coverage.
Several area colleagues have agreed to step in to cover pastoral emergencies. Generally, by pastoral emergencies we mean hospitalizations where clergy support is desired, or a death where either pastoral support and/or memorial planning is needed. If you find yourself in these or another situation where urgent pastoral care is desired, it is ok to reach out to the clergy person on call.
The schedule for emergency coverage is listed below, and it will appear in this section of the e-update for each of the weeks that I am away. You may email the pastor on call directly. If you need their phone number, please contact mande@ucu.church (Membership & Evangelism) or call and leave a message on the church line. Someone will get back to you shortly.
Stacy Luther, our church council chair, will be the one to keep me apprised of any pressing church matters while I am away. She can be reached at councilchair@ucu.church. If there’s something you think I should know, please send it her way.
Next week, I’ll share more about the administrative coverage, which is pretty much the same as always! But refreshers can be a good thing.
With gratitude for all who are making this pause possible,
Pastor Jen
