On boundaries and blessings

I am away at the New England Annual Conference this week, but I wanted to share a few helpful links as we work through the coming transition.

Last Sunday, my sermon centered on boundaries and connection, exploring what our relationship can (and cannot) look like once I am no longer serving as your pastor. It was a hard one to work through, but it provides some helpful clarification and guidelines. If you missed it, I encourage you to listen to the recording. I hope that setting some of these expectations now will also free us up for meaningful celebrations in the weeks to come.

I’m also sending along the spiritual gifts inventory we’ve talked about over the last few weeks. I won’t be checking homework, but several folks have shared that it led to some interesting conversations. May this exercise ground us and/or get us curious about our own gifts and graces. (Note: while labeled “teens,” the questions work just fine for adults. Adapt the context as needed.)

I look forward to worshipping together this Sunday in a very special Christian Education service. We have 2 Bibles to present, 7 graduates to cheer on, 6 hard-working MICE ministers to bless, and a whole lotta thanks to give.
